Hi, I’m carlee - The Druid who crafts!
I am a lifelong artist, avid dungeons & dragons player, and suburban druid currently living in Columbus, Ohio. Though there have always been other interests and careers through my life - art has always been at the foundation. You can find me at markets all across Ohio, usually wearing tie dye (and sometimes elf ears).
After a few years playing TTRPG’s, I realized I could create all kinds of functional art for it - and landed on dice rolling trays as a way to add some whimsy and color to game night. After making trays for all of my fellow adventurers, I decided to branch out - and therefore Carlee’s Druidcrafts was founded in 2024.
About 3 months into 2025, I lost my full time job in the local music industry. To put it plainly - it really sucked. I spent a whole lot of time learning about the music industry in college (literally, I have a degree in Music Technology), and had worked really hard already in 2 huge jobs since graduating. If I’m being honest, neither of those ended great! One burnt me out so badly, I had to leave. The next, I tried to protect my peace and ended up mouthing off one too many times and getting canned. Did it suck at the time? Yes. Am I happy to be freed from a really toxic workplace that never really valued me anyway? Also yes. ANYWAY-
I had to follow my gut, and it felt like my only option after getting fired was to lock in and try to make some money with something I could control- my business. Even after a late start to market season, I met so many market organizers, new vendor friends, and most importantly other witches, fantasy lovers, and tabletop gamers that resonate with my work!
how do i buy your art?
The best way to find us is at a market - you can see my upcoming market schedule here!
Order a commission for a dice box, piece of art - send me an email anytime and I’ll get back to you ASAP!
On this website (sometimes)! It’s difficult to keep the site and market stall going at the same time- so we are now trying limited drops on this website several times a year. Generally, I’m only selling my dice trays and large pieces online - buttons, magnets, and other trinkets will be at the market booth.
At the Guardtower West gaming store in Hilliard, OH - a small selection of dice boxes are available alongside several other local artists!
What’s in a name?
A druid was my very first D&D character (shoutout to Freya, a circle of wildfire druid who was way too powerful), and that class still remains my favorite to this day. More than a druid in the game - I try to be druidic in my every day life, too. I love to care for plants, and the planet - which is why I use reclaimed wood as much as possible when creating my dice rolling trays, artwork, and other functional art.
What is “Functional Art?”
“Functional Art” is any artwork that also serves a specific, useful purpose. Usually, it is handmade with care by an artisan, and is meant to be used - not just appreciated on a wall or shelf. I love functional art because it’s even more ingrained in someone’s life- I think it’s really neat that my artwork is at someone else’s gaming table, hopefully giving them great dice rolls in whatever game they’re playing!
Who else is on your team?
I’m the artist behind it all, but I have some really incredible support in my circle! My amazing spouse, Sam, is usually at the markets with me, and they’re also a huge help with the business and paperwork side of things. If you’ve been to a market, you’ve probably met them because I often make them do all of the cashiering. You might also catch me with one of my lovely friends when Sam can’t make it to a market with me. Last but not least, my parents! My mom gave me my arts and crafts genes, and she also is great and finding funky markets for me to vend at. My dad is a woodworker, and he’s the one behind the construction of all dice rolling trays, some of my market displays, and the owner of the laser cutter I’ve been using to make my trinkets!
I truly would not have been able to start this business without all of the love and support from my family and friends. Love you guys!
